New CD – Piping Hot at the Organ

Piping Hot at the Organ - New CD

Towards the end of 2019, we recorded a new CD featuring jazz at the organ – well-known melodies, arrangements, improvisations and music from our Youtube channel.

Two different organs were chosen for the recording – St Anna in Herschbach, my “home” organ – a 2-manual and pedal organ from Limburg organ-builder Carl Horn dating from 1915. The second instrument is the legendary Nelson organ found in St Bartholomäus in Gackenbach – a stunning four-manual English-style organ with an amazing disposition.

The recording was made as “cleanly” as possible. The organs sound as they are intended to be heard. No post-production reverb or sound editing took place. The recordings are to be enjoyed as if the listener were themselves sitting in the church enjoying the music.

The recording was partly funded via a crowdfunding project. My sincere thanks go to all those who pre-ordered a copy of the CD (some including scores of the music – also available for sale) for their support and patience.

The production of the disc itself was delayed considerably through no fault of our own. The whole project was in the end saved and finally produced by Hofa Music, a renowned German CD producer and distributor.

The recording is also available digitally via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer etc.
